After the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2020, New Jersey 2nd District Congressman Jeff Van Drew labeled the riot “un-American, unacceptable and disrespectful.” He was in agreement with most Americans in that regard. An ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 67% of Americans blamed Donald Trump for the riots, and 56% believed he should be removed from office.
