Multiple fire calls rang out at Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light over a recent two-day period, but most of Long Beach Island remained unaware as flashes of flames near the front gate were quickly extinguished before being ignited again.

Every call began with three shouts of “fire” followed by a duo, each armed with their own extinguisher, pulling the pin as they advanced toward the flames so they would be ready to fight once on scene.
