To the Editor:

CHARITABLE FUN: Jane and Leia Olesky made almost $500 for the local animal shelter from their bracelet stand in Long Beach Township. (Photos courtesy of Lynn Olesky Leyden)
My nieces Leia, 8, and Jane Olesky, 4, from Asheville, N.C., have been visiting family in Long Beach Township on 92nd Street. My grandparents bought a house on 92nd in the ’60s and my parents bought the lot across from the street in the ’80s so we have all grown up down here every summer.
Leia and Jane come for two weeks every summer and this summer, on a rainy day, we made a trip to the animal shelter.
