Last year, the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol’s Women’s Invitational lifeguard tournament was dealt an icy blow and forced to cancel because the ocean water was unusually cold for July.
The hiatus between 2021 and July 26, when the women’s invitational returned to Brant Beach, provided some time for more younger guards to climb the ranks, and last week they made themselves known.
