The Venue at Lighthouse Station Women’s Club, located on Lighthouse Drive in Barnegat Township, has been busy throughout the year planning events, raising funds and giving back to the local community.
The club is preparing for its Holiday Craft and Gift Fair, which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Venue Clubhouse, located at 85 Butler Drive. The fair will feature a variety of crafters and gift vendors to give guests an opportunity to get a head start on holiday shopping while supporting a worthwhile local cause. All proceeds benefit the Women’s Club Scholarship Fund.
The club began the year by collecting books, crayons, markers, small plush toys, and candy from its members. The donations were used to assemble 60 Easter backpacks for Barnegat schoolchildren. The remaining candy was packaged and donated to the Barnegat Food Pantry and Thrift Shop.
Late last month, the club held its fourth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, raising more than $2,000. The funds will be donated to the CMC Foundation – Cancer Center, part of RWJ Barnabas Health’s Community Medical Center. The donation will benefit The Inspiration Boutique, located inside the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center, which provides support and resources to cancer patients.
The club is also continuing its partnership with the Barnegat Police Department for its third year of collecting donations for Thanksgiving baskets. The baskets will include $20 gift cards to help families purchase turkeys, along with candied yams, marshmallows, white potatoes, gravy, corn, string beans, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, cookies, candy, plates and napkins.
Another ongoing project is the Women’s Club Scholarship Fund for Barnegat High School students. In 2026, two students each received a $1,000 scholarship to help further their education. Fundraising for the 2027 scholarships is already underway.
“The members of the Venue at Lighthouse Station Women’s Club are proud to continue making a difference in the Barnegat community,” said Dianna Sambolin, club member. “Through fundraising, donations, community partnerships and volunteer efforts, the club remains committed to helping local children, families and students.”
