To the Editor:

While trying to sell the states on ratifying our Constitution, James Madison famously wrote, “the powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the state governments are numerous and indefinite.”

You might ask yourself, what the heck happened? In a word, precedent, driven by progressive activists within all of our previously most trusted institutions.
