To the Editor:
As a homeowner in High Bar Harbor, I oppose Long Beach Township’s new bulkhead ordinance.
To require a new 6-foot bulkhead when a home is sold or renovated is unfair and punitive. Before homeowners can secure a certificate of occupancy to sell or renovate, they will have to incur an approximate expense of $100,000. Previously, the law only required erection of a 6-foot bulkhead when an existing bulkhead was replaced.
