As a nor’easter slammed Southern Ocean County over the weekend, Tuckerton felt some of the worst effects on the mainland, with major flooding hitting many of the waterfront communities on Monday, Oct. 13.

“With the high winds and heavy rains, we had a substantial flooding event,” Tuckerton Borough’s emergency management coordinator Mike Dupuis said. “The only thing I could liken it to was when Superstorm Sandy came in. I was over in Tuckerton Beach then, too.
