Many voices come my way in spite of my retirement from full-time pastoral ministry eight years ago. I hear from family, friends, professional acquaintances, neighbors and even new connections. They communicate with me through tears and exhaustion, and their voices and stories are different. However, the same undercurrent of fear, anger and grief punctuates their messages, a shared sense that something precious is being threatened and the ground beneath us no longer feels secure nor steady.

And yet, in the midst of all of it, something holy is happening. Each message has been a thread.
