And so, this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year over and a new one just begun. The saga of the fruitcake continues! Since the last of our family’s group from the “Greatest Generation” has passed, I thought it was time to reflect on the history of our beloved fruitcake.

It all started innocently enough. In 1988 our son Andy was swimming with the Eastern Express, a competitive swim team based in Princeton. Jamie Mock, a neighbor who was three years younger than Andy, attended East Amwell School. Both were on the same swim team.
