On Saturday, April 15, Margaret Thomas (Pooch) Buchholz was all geared up for a celebration of her 90th birthday at the High Point Volunteer Fire Co. in Harvey Cedars. She was chauffeured to the bash late that afternoon on a fire truck, but when she walked inside, the crowd of about 150 friends, family and acquaintances indicated that this was not going to be a garden variety affair.

Buchholz soon realized she was the guest of honor for what was officially proclaimed by the town as “Margaret Thomas Buchholz ‘Poochy’ Day.”
