For the past 20-plus years, my children along with 30 other kids have spent their summers in our Beach Haven Terrace neighborhood. Most of the families we know have had a Terrace connection for over 50 years and are more like family than neighbors. Having summered in the Terrace for only 30 years, I am considered new to the group.

When I tell people I am from Baltimore, I might as well say I’m from a different country, so far away.
