To the Editor:
In response to “Is Ukraine Really a Concern of the US? A Lot to Ponder” (2/16), Putin has made it clear he wants to restore the old Soviet Union. As such, he will threaten, invade or weaken free Europe’s independence.
The old Soviet Union includes countries that are now NATO members. It is clear these countries became NATO members not to threaten Putin but to maintain their free will to have self-determination.
