To the Editor:

I was wondering of you’ve ever done an article on the history of your own little paper. As a young adult I loved reading it in the 1980s. I was a teenage transplant here from Florida and LBI was introduced to me in 1980 when my best friend brought me down to Holgate where her father had a place.

I’ve loved the Island ever since and a decade later brought my kids quite often in the late ’80s and ’90s. I always picked up your paper and thought it had the most clever name.
