Ten months after hitting a significant setback in his career as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, Braxton Harris walked the beach just beyond Barnegat Lighthouse. At the base of the towering structure, six active Coast Guard surfmen awaited his arrival for a ceremony marking his achievement in becoming the newest member of this elite group of boat operators.
