The Stafford Township Police Department continued to crack down on crime as the new year got underway.

At about 3 p.m. on Jan. 8, Stafford’s Drug Enforcement Unit began surveillance at the Walmart store located on Route 72 of a known shoplifter, 40-year-old Jacquelyn M. Best of Toms River, and during surveillance efforts, detectives observed Best concealing items in a reusable bag and attempting to return an item she did not purchase, police said.
