Heading into Monday, Gabrielle Cabaron hadn’t seen the inside of a Southern Regional High School classroom since March 24.
But it wasn’t without reason.
Following Southern’s recent spring break, the junior swimmer, along with a dozen Ocean County YMCA teammates, headed for Greensboro, N.C., where they competed in the YMCA Short Course National Championships April 4-8.
“It was a long and tiring week, but it was a lot of fun,” the 16-year-old Cabaron said Sunday after returning home to Beach Haven Terrace.
