Southern Scraps Its Way Past Old Bridge to Capture South Jersey Group IV Title

Lucas Kean was tired of the Old Bridge boys volleyball team getting in the way.

“I knew once that ball was up in the air, coming toward me, that I was putting it away,” said the senior outside hitter, after he hammered home classmate Ethan Brummer’s set for the winning point in Southern’s 25-23, 21-25, 25-18 victory over the Knights to capture the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV championship on Wednesday, June 7. “I wasn’t going to miss this chance.”
