The ocean temperature has breached 60 degrees, and the forecast is calling for a sunny start to Memorial Day weekend. For those who want to take a swim over the holiday, Long Beach Island beach patrols always recommend doing so with lifeguards present.
Long Beach Township Beach Patrol will have guards at its 68th Street beach, in the Brant Beach section of the municipality, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. In addition, a response team will be roaming throughout the holiday weekend.
Township beaches will be guarded seven days a week from June 17 through Labor Day, on Sept. 4.
