Pauline D’Andrea came upon a disturbing sight when arriving at her Olde Tyme Smoke Shoppe at 213 North Bay Ave. in Beach Haven this past Saturday morning.
Either late Friday night or early morning Saturday, the store she owns with her husband, Andy Garoppo, was broken into. Among the missing items were nine cartons of cigarettes, 30 vapes and $600 in cash.
“They didn’t touch the cigars,” she said.
Based on what she saw at the scene, D’Andrea believes the suspect or suspects initially tried to break through the back door with a crowbar.
“They were unsuccessful, so they were able to break in through the front door,” she said.
