Just last week this writer compared the 2014 Southern Regional High School wrestling teamto the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Those Dolphins were the only NFL team to have ever posted a perfect season, wrapping up their 17-0 campaign with a 14-7 win over Washington in Super Bowl VII. Members of the superb Miami defense, however, excepting Hall of Fame middle linebacker Nick Buoniconti, never got the individual recognition they deserved. Indeed, they were collectively known as the “No-Name Defense.”

The situation with the 2014 Southern wrestling team, it was suggested, was much the same.
