Eleven days after shooting down its own proposed short-term rental ordinance, the Ship Bottom Borough Council rejected another proposal before a standing-room-only crowd at the firehouse Dec. 30 at its final meeting of the year even as some reasoned protection against “animal houses” is a necessity.

“With pleasure,” said Council President Ed English, who made the motion to deny Ordinance 2025-10C, which kept the proposed short-term rental fees in place, when asked if he approved his own motion.
