Maggie Bogacz and five of her teammates had just completed possibly the most fun event of any lifeguard tournament in which they had participated, and it wasn’t even for points toward their total score.
“Compared to other tournaments, this was just a bunch of awesome girls getting together for a fun competition,” said Bogacz, one of the nine Beach Haven women competing in the first Mermaid Classic, hosted by the Ship Bottom Beach Patrol on Aug. 8.
