The Barnegat Recreation Department is getting into the Halloween spirit with a “Business Scarecrow Tour Contest” beginning Sunday, Oct. 17, and ending Sunday, Oct. 31.
Participating businesses will display a scarecrow of their own creation in front of their establishments. The Barnegat Recreation Department will list the names of all participants and locations to tour the displays on the township website (barnegat.net) under recreation and the department’s Facebook page.
Jean Broadbent, recreation director, said community members can vote for the best scarecrow in town.
