Republican Fredric G. Rubenstein defeated his Democratic opponent, former committeewoman Maxine Blumenthal, by a vote of 6,914 to 4,584 for township committee on Election Day. The seat is presently held by Deputy Mayor Albert Bille, who declined to seek a sixth three-year term.
A former committee candidate, Rubenstein’s service in the township includes former president of the board of education and former chair of the zoning board. He is currently a planning board member.
