A first-year lifeguard in Barnegat Light is being credited with saving a beachgoer’s life after the individual stumbled and collapsed on the bay beach earlier this month.
Maya Major, 16, was on duty when a woman in her 70s collapsed Aug. 9, said Hugh Shields, a Barnegat Light Beach Patrol sergeant.
