To the Editor:
Our family’s return to LBI this Memorial Day weekend was glorious. Nothing – not even the driving rain and cool temperatures – could dampen our spirits. The Island was quiet but resilient through the pandemic thanks, in large part, to the creative municipal responses that allowed businesses to move outdoors. But, apart from a stray beach conversation, masked and at a safe social distance, people pretty much kept to themselves.
