Work to replace a culvert under Marsha Drive in Stafford Township was slated to begin Sept. 9 roughly two years after a state road crew discovered it could not build a new lane atop it as planned for the final phase of the nearly $360 million Causeway project.

“The Route 72 westbound jughandle for U-turns and access to Beach Haven West will remain open,” N.J. Department of Transportation officials said earlier this month.
