The year 1978 seems to be a bit hazy in some folks’ memory. That was the summer of the SandPaper Surf Classic in Harvey Cedars. Granted, it was a “hazy” kind of age for folks in general. But while surfers of that era can recite every single board they owned – the year, the shaper, the model, the size – no one could remember who won this local surf contest from that hot August.
