To the Editor:

Dr. Richard Goldstein passed away on Dec. 29. As a colleague in pediatrics, I knew Dick for more than 20 years. With his sometimes disheveled hair and always disheveled handwriting, one might be fooled about the extent of his meticulousness in medicine. Yet, Dick was extraordinary in his attention to detail about children and families. He had endless patience in assuring that all questions were answered and would couple that with ceaseless diligence in follow-up after hours.
