To the Editor:

I am a long-time resident of Manahawkin, and a senior citizen. Recently, I needed to be seen by my doctor and because of the increased traffic here in the summer, I asked a friend to drive me over to the Island.

Here’s where it gets interesting. She lives out in a development on Route 72, so I asked her if she could meet me in the old Kmart parking lot, figuring there was no active business and she could leave her car there for an hour or so while she drove me to the doctor.
