For Ocean County, N.J., the year 1921 was one of disappointment and what-ifs.
The year had started on a high note as the residents of Long Beach Island celebrated a monumental occasion, the linking of Beach Haven with Barnegat Light – at the time called Barnegat City – by road, The Jan. 26 Trenton Times carried the story.
