To the Editor:
As the world continues to grapple with the pandemic, our nation’s healthcare system should apply the lessons learned so far. There is no question that Americans who are affected by obesity have been more severely impacted by COVID-19. In fact, a majority of the patients hospitalized who needed a ventilator or died from the disease were affected by obesity or obesity-related diseases.
