NY Teen Swipes Ocean Mile Title; BLBP First-Timer Snags Women’s Division

As soon as Clementine DeMauro found out about the Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim, she was hooked.

“My family and I were at a restaurant, and my dad saw the article about it in The SandPaper and I said, right away, that I wanted to do it,” said the 10-year-old from Wallingford, Pa. “That was in June, and I’ve been training a lot since then. I love swimming, so I just wanted to have fun with it.”
