With no final appropriation bill yet, it’s unclear when the next periodic Long Beach Island beach replenishment project, slated for 2023, will receive funding and in what amount.
On Dec. 15, the day after Congress agreed to a short-term funding bill, staving off a government shutdown through Dec. 23, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District said the project was listed for funding in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives appropriation reports.
