The Tuesday before the NFL’s conference championship games, a select few officials get the phone call of a lifetime. The call lets them know they’ll be officiating the Super Bowl.

Part-time Brant Beachresident Tony Veteri Jr., a head linesman, has received that call once in his career. Veteri officiated Super Bowl XXXV between the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens. He said at times, the allure of the game can be overwhelming.
