Homegrown local festival Music for Peace, rooted in mindfulness and inspiring meaningful connections, will return to the Manahawkin Flea Market this fall for its second gathering this year. The festival welcomes all to enjoy a day of live music, yoga and meditation, drum circles and collaborative performances, vendors, artists and more on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Music for Peace was started in 2020 by yoga studio Shanti Revolution with the intention of bringing people together and spreading kindness and peacefulness through the “universal language” of music.
“I hope people can feel a little bit more peace inside, and let go of some heaviness. I hope they take with them that warm, fuzzy feeling in the heart,” said festival founder Jodie Emma at Music for Peace earlier this year.
The free event is a “welcoming, inclusive space for all ages.” The music lineup this year includes Allison Stella, Denise Miller, Dave Cudrak, Coyote Jack Band, Toni and Mundai, Rachel Burghen, LocaLokah, Alice Fawn, Kuf Knotz and Christine Elise, Shanti Revolution, Pickle Rick and The Lung. Mary Buck will host and perform interludes between sets. Enjoy workshops, yoga sessions and vendors throughout the day.
