To the Editor:
L J. Wallace Jr.’s article “Surviving ‘The Hole’ in the Middle of Summer” (5/22) brought back many memories of the years I worked at Morrison’s Restaurant in Beach Haven. Pete and Peg Morrison were the owners. Although everyone knew him as Pete, his real name was Robert. He acquired the nickname because there was a popular silent movie cowboy by the name of Pete Morrison.
After quitting my job as a house painter, I began working at Morrison’s as a pot washer in August 1961.
