The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, of whom I have been a member for 63 years, and who have had a presence on Long Beach Island for many years through St. Francis Parish, have issued a statement on current affairs that we would like you to publish. The congregational statement from Franciscan Sisters of Allegany and associates is as follows:
“As Franciscan women rooted in the gospel, we acknowledge our sisterhood with the poor, the oppressed, and those suffering from injustice and violence.
