Martin Luther King Jr. Day is more than a holiday to honor the civil rights icon. It is also a National Day of Service, stressing ways people can make meaningful change in their communities.
According to the U.S. Department of the Interior website, its Diversity, Inclusion and Civil Rights division calls it “a day on, not a day off.”
