To the Editor:

I went to our Beach Haven Memorial Day service. There were about 250 people there, some with young children. I was thinking that even in New Jersey, where taxation is a way of life, there still are patriotic people, albeit mostly old codgers like me who remember how things used to be.

A few people there were actual veterans from Korea and Vietnam and maybe one or two from WWII. But there were a lot of youngsters there, too, with their parents and Boy Scouts representing the local chapter.
