NASCAR on FOX aired on April 19, broadcasting the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, when a camera cut to a close-up of a tire. The initials JC could be seen at the bottom of the Goodyear tire. These were the initials of technician, pit-crew-teammate-in-training and Manahawkin-born Justin Clapper.
As a really young boy, Clapper never could have pictured himself doing this. He liked racing, watching “a 500 here and there.” Yet, he was a kid without a true passion.
