In 2015, Long Beach Township adopted an ordinance banning the use of drones in the municipality, with some authorized exceptions. At its most recent meeting, though, the township board of commissioners amended the original ordinance, as a total ban on the unmanned aircraft is not permitted as per the Federal Aviation Administration.

“We had to come into FAA compliance,” said Mayor Joseph Mancini. “They supersede our ordinance.”
