Though some time has passed since Maui was engulfed in flames, Jersey Shore locals – especially post-Superstorm Sandy – can empathize with the fact that it takes years to rebuild after the devastation of a natural disaster.

Artist Arlene Marcoe lived on Maui for 25 years prior to settling down in West Creek, and in the midst of her latest transition marked by the loss of both her husband and her sister, she takes solace in making a small difference by raising awareness to the place she called home for so long.
