The Ocean County Health Department is raising awareness of an increase in overdoses that have been linked to 7-OH, aka kratom, which is sold in convenience shops throughout New Jersey.

The plant-derived substance is marketed as a “natural” substance but is associated with serious health risks, including addictive effects and other serious medical complications.
