With good substitute teachers already in short supply, Pinelands Regional High School auto shop students found themselves spending many hours in the media center due to their instructor Paul Millar’s unexpected leave of absence. Long-term substitute teacher Patty Horner volunteered to oversee the class, but after many weeks of book work, school Principal Troy Henderson called in a favor from local professional Jon Miller, owner of Jon Miller Car Care, in Tuckerton.

“I’ve always wanted to be a shop teacher,” Miller shared. “It’s kind of poetic.”
