While locals and visitors enjoyed a holiday weekend filled with plenty of sun, sand and sea on Long Beach Island, many of those same people didn’t relish the traffic snarls that also marked the busiest weekend on the Island in a few years.
“Every way to get on the Island was backed up,” Ship Bottom Mayor William Huelsenbeck said Tuesday morning, adding it took him two hours to travel from the Stafford Square area of Route 72 to the Island last week.
