Turner Ryon and Belle Placa have been sailing together a lot the past seven months. Whether the Orange Bowl International Regatta in Florida or the Commonwealth Cup in Virginia, the 15-year-old Southern Regional High School sailors are getting quite familiar with each other.
“He doesn’t yell at me, and I don’t yell at him,” Placa said, the two of them laughing, following their narrow victory in the C420 class races during the Surf City Yacht Club Junior Commodore’s Regatta on July 1.
