It was gratifying to read Jay Mann’s May 15 “The Fish Story” with some paragraphs dedicated to praise of greenery. I have the good fortune to live on the north end of the Island where you can see gravel lots devoid of vegetation are not nature’s plan. I also have the misfortune of having a home with so-called “easy care” gravel and let me tell you, walking barefoot on 1-inch river rock is no delight unless you’re into extreme foot reflexology.
