I learned last week of the passing of a man I never met but had heard of over the years, and sadly I failed to keep him at the forefront of my mind when it came to inspiration: Dick Hoyt.
Dick Hoyt’s eldest son Rick was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, which caused him to suffer from cerebral palsy and effectively be born a quadriplegic. Every doctor his parents spoke to said they should institutionalize him and “move on.”
